This benefit gig features accomplished folk singer Kath Reade, local rabble-rousing faves Jacky’s Fantastic, dance music from the roaring twenties and thirties with jazz band Swing Easy and Leeds-based female dub selector duo Lioness Power.
Kath Reade is a true Renaissance woman with numerous CD releases under her belt as well as a best-selling author, sound healer and meditation teacher. Kath will be performing a mixture of traditional folk songs and original music from her extensive back catalogue.
Jacky’s Fantastic are a 3-piece folk rock power trio based in Hebden Bridge. Playing all original songs inspired by the greats of rock, pop and folk music, they’re sure to get the party started.
Swing Easy are a collective of jazz musicians who all love swing music and playing for dancers. So put on your dancing shoes and shake that tail feather!
Lioness Power, a Leeds-based female dub selector duo on a mission of love. Spreading a message of peace and equality through the unifying power of dub and reggae. Expect positive lyrics complimented by ethereal flutes, melodic horns, nyabinghi drums and heavy basslines.
This is a fundraising event for the new local mental health charity, Art Therapy Space. Art Therapy Space is a new local mental health charity designed by service users for service users providing art psychotherapy to adults with severe, long term mental health issues originating in childhood. Access to the service will be by self-referral on their website (to be constructed). Art Therapy Space gained charitable status in December 2023 and are now seeking funding of all sorts to become operational.
