Accessibility

We have put in place a number of measures to help ensure your visit to The Trades Club is a pleasant one. Please take a moment to read our detailed accessibility guide below and get in touch in advance of your visit to discuss any specific needs – info@thetradesclub.com.

Wheelchair Access

The main entrance to The Trades Club is on the ground floor with the bar and live room on the first floor. The traditional access to the venue is stepped, up a flight of stairs, with several landings and double banisters.

There is wheelchair access to the left of the building at the front. You’ll find a keypad ‘call for assistance’ button to the left of the recessed double doors. Press the assistance button and the door will be automatically opened. This gives you access to the lower lobby area and the lift to the upper floor venue. The lift can accommodate type A or B wheelchairs but not type C or electric scooters. There is also an accessible toilet in the ground floor lobby area with grab rails and baby changing facilities.

Bookings

If you’ve already bought a ticket to a show but need someone’s help to attend, we’re happy to offer you a Personal Assistant (PA) ticket. Send us an email to discuss your requirements. On the day, we’ll just ask that you show us some form of evidence for the PA ticket, such as a scan of a PIP/DLA letter, a blue badge or access card.

Seat Reservations & Viewing Area

If you would like a reserved seat due to mobility issues, please let us know in advance. We don’t currently have a designated viewing area, but we have fixed booths in our event room that can provide viewing points and we’d be happy to reserve one of these for you if available. Unfortunately, we can’t promise a complete view of the stage during particularly busy standing gigs. We’ll always try our best to meet your needs. To help us do so, we may ask that you attend slightly earlier then the advertised door time.

Travel & Parking

The Trades Club is situated on Holme Street in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, HX7 8EE. Map

The club is less than half a mile from Hebden Bridge train station. There are regular trains to Hebden Bridge from Manchester, which usually take around 30 minutes, and from Leeds, about 40 minutes. If you’re driving, Hebden Bridge is on the A646 – eight miles west of Halifax and 14 miles north-east of Rochdale. There are several parking bays directly outside the club. A council-maintained car park (St. Pol – 4hrs max stay) can be found on Bridge Gate, directly opposite Holme Street, a few minutes from the venue. Designated bays for Blue Badge holders can be found on Crown Street, a short distance from the venue, and on Valley Road, slightly further away. Taxis and minicabs are usually able to drop visitors directly outside the venue. Several buses stop nearby on New Road, just a few minutes from the venue.

Opening Times

The Trades Club bar is open every Monday to Thursday from 4pm through until 11pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm until 1am. Doors usually open for evening events at 8pm with performances starting at around 8.30pm but please check the event listing on the website. If you would like early entrance to the gig room as part of your access requirements, we can arrange that for you. Just let us know in advance.

Indonesian food is available from 4pm until 9pm every day with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Service is informal and there’s no need to book. Menus are available on tables or from the kitchen. Kitchen staff can be asked to take your order from your table if required. We do not have lowered bars for drinks service but our staff will be willing to help in any way they can.

Assistance Dogs

We welcome assistance dogs and we would be happy to provide a bowl of water for them. However, not all events are suitable, so please check with us beforehand. In general, dogs are welcome in the club so long as they’re well behaved and kept on a lead. We ask that non-assistance dogs leave by 8.30pm on weekend or event evenings when it tends to get busier and noisier. At the discretion of staff, they can stay longer on quieter evenings.

Strobe Lighting

We regularly use flashing lighting at gigs and events. Get in touch if you have any concerns or need further information.
