Accessibility

Wheelchair access is to the left of the building front. A keypad ‘call for assistance’ system connected to the upper venue is to the left of the recessed double doors. The door will be automatically opened after request via the call system. This enables access to the lower lobby area and the lift to the upper floor venue. There is an accessible toilet in the ground floor lobby area with grab rails and baby changing facilities. The traditional access to the venue is still available. It is stepped, up a flight of stairs, with several landings and double banisters.

Bookings

We offer a Personal Assistant or Carer ticket to any customer who may not be able to attend a show without the support of a PA and has already purchased a valid ticket. If you require a PA ticket, please send us an email to discuss your requirements. We will then confirm via email. You will be asked to provide evidence for the PA ticket to be issued in the form of a scan of a PIP/DLA letter, a blue badge, access card etc for the show in question.

Seat Reservations and Viewing Area

If you require use of a viewing area and/or would like a reserved seat due to mobility issues, please let us know in advance, to ensure we are aware of your access needs. We will ask that you attend slightly earlier then the advertised door times on the night so we can ensure you are able to easily access your reserved seating. While we do not currently have a designated viewing area, we do have fixed booths that can provide accessible viewing points in our event room which we will be happy to reserve for you.

Parking and Travel

We do not have specific accessible parking bays outside the club but several parking bays are available directly outside. A Council maintained Car Park (St. Pol 4hrs Max Stay) can be found on Bridge Gate directly opposite Holme Street a few minutes from the venue. Designated bays for Blue Badge holders can be found on Crown Street, a short distance from the venue & on Valley Road, slightly further away. Taxis and minicabs should be able to drop visitors directly outside the venue. The nearest train station is Hebden Bridge, under half a mile away. Several buses stop nearby on New Road, just a few minutes from the venue. If you require early entrance into the gig room as part of your access requirements, we can make these arrangements but please inform us prior to the event.

Opening

The Trades Club bar is open every Monday – Thursday from 4pm through until 11pm. Friday and Saturdays from 4pm until 1am. Evening gigs and events usually start at around 8.30pm with Doors Open from 8pm (but please check the event listing). Indonesian food is available from the Trades Club kitchen from 4pm until 8pm with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. Service is informal with no booking required and menus are available on tables or from the kitchen. Kitchen staff can be asked to take your order from your table if required. We do not have lowered bars for drinks service but our staff will be willing to help in any way they can.

Assistance Dogs

We welcome assistance dogs and will provide a bowl of water if needed. However, not all events are suitable so please enquire beforehand. In general dogs are welcome in the club if well behaved and kept on a lead. Non assistance dogs will be required to leave the premises at 8.30pm on weekend or event evenings when it tends to get busier and noisier but may, at the discretion of staff, stay longer on quiet evenings.

Strobe Lighting

We regularly use flashing lighting at gigs and events. If strobe lighting is to be used signs will be displayed on the evening of the event. Please get in touch if you have any concerns or need further information.
