On her debut full-length album, Emotions and Math, Brooklyn singer-songwriter Margaret Glaspy delivers a dozen songs about love, loss and life that are ensconced in absolutely gorgeous guitar tone. Her playing is sturdy but supple, and Glaspy pairs it with a vocal style that touches on blues, jazz, Liz Phair and Joni Mitchell. The result is a startlingly intimate set built by a stunning new songwriting talent and lit by the warm glow of six electrified strings.
