Bandante is George Vjestica, from Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, on guitar and vocals, Kai Stephens on bass guitar and backing vocals and Sammy J Stopford on drums.
George sites the bands musical influences as being as far reaching as Bowie, Lou Reed & The Velvet Undergound, Serge Gainsbourg, Link Wray, Stravinsky and Vini Reilly.
The ‘fourth member’ of the band is collage artist Timothy Shepard, who worked closely with musician Kevin Ayres on his final album ‘The Unfairground’ and designed the album cover for Paul Weller’s album 22 Dreams. Timothy is in charge of the visual side of the performance which involves a combination of super 8 film projections and liquid light shows using oils.
