18+ event
1991 Rave at The Trades is proud to present old school breakbeat legends DJ Krome & Mr Time.
DJ Krome and Mr Time started their journey in 1985 as a DJ MC hip hop duo. Going to the same school in hackney, they were influenced by Soundsystem, hip hop and soul music. When in 1987 they discovered acid house music, everything changed.
Taken in by this new sound, they followed some of the older guys in the neighbourhood to Camden palace on a Friday night and discovered a revolution called rave, and they have been raving ever since.
Soon after, a life in music production started. After releasing the first track on Suburban Base (Boogie Times) they went on to produce some of the biggest tunes of the rave era, including The Slammer, Sounds of the Underground, Ganja Man, Fireball and The Licence amongst many others.
I hope you can join us for this one as we venture into the breakbeat sounds of early days of rave. It’s gonna be absolutely banging ?
Warm up by Gavin Hayes & Del Eclipse.
