Metamorphic, led by Leeds based composer/arranger/pianist Laura Cole, is a contemporary jazz/folk sextet comprised by some of the finest players and composers on the British jazz and contemporary music scene: Kerry Andrew – voice (Juice Vocal Ensemble), Chris Williams – alto sax (Led Bib), John Martin – soprano-/tenor sax (John Martin Quartet), Oliver Dover – (Shatner’s Bassoon), Seth Bennett – double bass (Bennett-Cole Orchestra), Paul Sandy – double bass (The Rude Mechanicals), Tom Greenhalgh – drums (Snack Family). They have released two albums; ‘The Rock Between’ and ‘Coalescence’, both to critical acclaim and have toured the UK. Røyst Trio, led collectively by the three composers/voice musicians, two of whom are based in Leeds, Kari N Bleivik (Tommy Evans Orchestra), Cecilie Giskemo (Suzy&2) and Maria Jardardottir (Olivia Moore’s Unfurl), is an a cappella world/jazz/folk trio which has toured internationally with great success. They released their debut album ‘Nordic Initiative’ in 2005 and will this summer 2015 tour USA and Canada.

The members of the two ensembles have had their work performed/played on BBC Radio 3 and 4 as well as on national radio stations and TV in countries such as Norway, Ireland, USA, Mexico, Australia, Zimbabwe and Nepal.
In 2013 the two ensembles embarked on a collaboration and toured UK with successful appearances at The Vortex (London), Seven Arts (Leeds), More Music (Morecambe), Lost Voices (Liverpool) and Millenium Hall (Sheffield) to name a few. In November 2014 the ensembles recorded three collaboration pieces that will make up their debut EP with release planned for summer 2015 followed by appearances on festivals and venues in the UK November 2015 and in Norway January/February 2016.
