Sunday Easy presents: TRIO JDM
£7 | £8 [+10% booking fee] Children Free Entry
Doors open 2pm
Seated show
Trio JDM is a fresh spin on the classic organ trio format, channeling deep groove, sophisticated interplay, and a fearless sense
of swing. Anchored by drummer Dave Walsh, whose credits read like a who’s who across jazz, singer-songwriter, and pop
realms. Think Enrico Pieranunzi, Arun Ghosh, Tom McRae, Matt Bianco.
On guitar, Jamie Taylor delivers a sound equally rooted in tradition and forward-thinking lyricism. He’s shared stages with jazz
heavyweights on both sides of the Atlantic. Wayne Escoffery, John Stowell, Baptiste Herbin, John Goldsby and is no stranger
to iconic venues like Ronnie Scott’s and The Troubadour.
Holding it all down on Hammond is the exceptional Martin Longhawn, known to many for his work with the boundary-pushing
Svarc/Hanley/Longhawn trio. His playing is all vibe, touch, and invention.
Drawing inspiration from modern masters like Larry Goldings/Peter Bernstein/Bill Stewart, the soulful fire of Delvon
Lamarr, and the explosive energy of The Tony Williams Lifetime, Trio JDM is both homage and evolution. Groove-heavy,
harmonically rich, and always in the moment.
‘One of the most enjoyable albums in this format that I’ve heard in quite some time. It’s good to hear an organ trio that places
the focus on original material and eschews the usual Blue Note cliches in favour of something more adventurous.’
The Jazz Mann
‘High-calibre Hammond trio jazz…retro-sounding but with a modern edge, they handle the tunes with an easeful group chemistry’
