Teenage Superstar is a film about the Glasgow independent music scene between 1982 and 1992, focusing on the bands that emerged from in and around the city at this point including The Pastels, BMX Bandits, The Soup Dragons, Teenage Fanclub, The Vaselines, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Primal Scream
Director Grant McPhee is also the author of the new book Postcards from Scotland – the definitive story of the radicals, misfits and experimentalists who made independent music what it is today. He’ll be in conversation with Janine Bullman about the film and book.
‘An enjoyable ride through independent Scottish music of the era, and it will send you scurrying back to record, so many of which still sound refreshing and fearless’ Shindig 4****
