Delighted to announce New York power trio Sunflower Bean will perform at The Trades on Auguest 28th.
Their new album Twentytwo in Blue was released on in March when all members of the band – Julia Cumming, Jacob Faber and Nick Kivlen – were 22 years old.
The guitar band’s classic rock-inspired roots are set to shine through on the album, which explores new sonic textures with more direct and progressive themes. Twentytwo in Blue has been co-produced by Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Jacob Portrait (who also mixed the album) and HC-producer Matt Molnar of Friends.
The album was made in a twelve month period between December 2016 and December 2017, with Sunflower Bean keen to showcase how far the band has come since playing together in their high school days.
The Howl & The Hum are a miserable disco who write Bond themes for films where Jimmy is still hung up on that girl. They combine dark hypnotic pop with post-punk influences, pierced with lyrics that make you call your mum the next morning.
“expansive indie songwriting that nods towards Massive Attack or Portishead.” – Clash Magazine
“The Howl And The Hum are a seriously great band, from whom you will be hearing a great deal more in the coming months.” – Tom Robinson, BBC 6Music
