Jazz pianist, ethnomusicologist and activist for equal opportunities in music, Daniel Bath is joined by a dazzling line-up of musical friends, the valley’s finest, including Rosemary Howes (voice), Martin Davies (drums), Peadar Long (woodwind), Stephen Shulman (violin), Adam Medlock (bass) and a special guest appearance from Miss Airedale. Honouring the centenary of the Trades Club, this gig will celebrate traditions of activism, defiance, resistance and resiliance in a kaleidescopic journey through South African jazz, klezmer, socialist cabaret, Palestinian songs, the works of Joe Hill and some new, specially composed songs of protest.
All proceeds will go to Music for the Many, providing free instrumental tuition and musical opportunities for children, young people and families in Calderdale.
This event is fully booked.
