Fyfe Dangerfield – a musician, and also a man – was born in the Birmingham July of 1980, and a hefty percentage of his childhood years was spent playing Beatles tunes on his family’s piano.
Moving to London in 2002 in search of sonic stragglers, he formed the band Guillemots, whose debut album “Through the Windowpane” garnered a Mercury Prize Nomination on its 2006 release, as well as a gleefully received on-air nod of approval from one of those actual Beatles, Sir Paul “Macca” McCartney.
Three more albums – “Red” (2008), “Walk the River” (2011) and “Hello Land” (2012) followed, alongside a solo outing, “Fly Yellow Moon” (2010).
Beyond song, he has also written various choral, chamber & orchestral commissions, including 2008’s “In Wait” for the CBSO, and can sometimes be found moonlighting on piano & organ-gone- wrong in the free-jazz group Gannets.
In 2018, after six fruitful years of play in the making warren, Dangerfield re-emerged with a new channel – www.channelsmaychange.com – a free space, for casually sharing all manner of unfiltered creative goodies.
The flagship Channels May Change transmission to date is “Birdwatcher”, a 12-part audio series of broadcasts, containing a surreal mix of songs, instrumentals, sounds & characters.
