Camera Obscura formed in Glasgow in 1996. They have released five acclaimed albums, garnering a passionate and engaged global fanbase:
Biggest Bluest Hi-Fi (Andmoresound, 2001);
Underachievers Please Try Harder (Elefant Records, 2003)
Let’s Get Out Of This Country (Elefant Records, 2006);
My Maudlin Career (4AD, 2009);
Desire Lines (4AD, 2013).
The band went on hiatus following the tragic passing of keyboard player Carey Lander in 2015. Camera Obscura reformed for Belle & Sebastian’s Boaty Weekender in 2019.
In Nov 2023 they announced that they had signed with Merge Records. Lead singer songwriter Tracyanen Campbell says:
‘We’re excited to be working again with Merge Records. We are looking forward to sharing new music with our fans and to playing live in 2024.’
This event is fully booked.
