Milltown Brothers will make a happy return to the iconic Trades Club on the 4th July 2026. The band has thoroughly enjoyed playing the Trades in recent times after a hiatus of over thirty years. They first played the venue back in 1990 when there was no stage… there’s a video on YouTube somewhere that captures the performance!
In 2025, the band were pretty active with several shows across the country, a book published and the release of Boogie Woogie (their 6th studio album), which reached number 37 in the UK Official Vinyl Album Chart. The Trades set is sure to include several songs from this latest album, along with a string of others dating as far back as those pre-Slinky days when they first appeared in Hebden Bridge. Slinky (1991), their first studio album, received 5 stars in Q Magazine, made the UK Top Thirty and catapulted the band into the public eye 35 years ago with a series of hit singles here and in the USA including Which Way Should I Jump?, Here I Stand (used as the theme tune to the BBC series Preston Front) and Apple Green.
In June this year, the Last Night From Glasgow label will also release a vinyl version of the Milltown Brothers’ 4th studio album, Long Road. Some rarely played songs from this record are also sure to feature in the forthcoming Trades set.
