Dean & Britta are Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips; they have been making records together since Britta joined the band Luna in 2000. At the Trades Club, Dean & Britta will perform as a duo, a special set of songs from their back catalog (Galaxie 500, Luna) and from Dean’s new album That’s the Price of Loving Me.
Dean Wareham got his start as the singer-songwriter-guitarist behind Galaxie 500, who recently released a collection of unreleased studio out-takes and B-sides: Uncollected Noise New York. Before joining Luna, Britta was a member of the London-based shoegaze band The Belltower. She was also the singing voice of cartoon rocker Jem (of Jem & the Holograms) in the 1980s. Dean & Britta have scored films for Noah Baumbach (the Squid & the Whale, Mistress America), Olivier Assayas and a project with the Andy Warhol Museum: 13 Most Beautiful: songs for Andy Warhol’s Screentests.
