Mangorata are a 6-piece jazz fusion collective combining original tunes with improvisation, creating lively rhythms inspired by legends like Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter, and more recent artists such as Nubiyan Twist and Nubya Garcia.
Straight out of the legendary Leeds Conservatoire and into Jazz Clubs across the UK, Mangorata are driven from the back by fiery drummer Miles Pillinger and feature the young virtuoso trumpeter Olivia Cuttill, just 20 years old and already blowing people away with her incredibly mature soloing. With fellow horn player James Absalom by her side on tenor sax, they make a formidable brass section. All held together by pianist Liam Mason, percussionist JJ Petrie (Plantfood) and double bass from Chris Williams. Check out Olivia’s debut solo album Three’s A Crowd.
As usual, residents Horizontal-G and D-Tone will be selecting plates of afrojazzfunk and eclectic chill for your laidback Sunday Easy vibe with beautiful Indonesian Cuisine on offer from Dapur Nin.
