Ruth Theodore returns to the English touring scene for the first time since 2021 in celebration of the release of Cherry Picker, a career spanning compilation album to be released on River Rat on April 28th.
Cherry Picker features two new songs from her forthcoming album, including the single People People, and sees many of her best-loved recordings making their way onto vinyl for the first time.
Signed, limited edition, cherry vinyl copies of this joyous collection will be on sale at the shows but pre-order online is recommended for those who do not want to risk them selling out.
Theodore has assembled an exciting line-up of talented musicians, capable of encompassing the various eras of her career.
This new stage show weaves this collection of songs together with gripping stories from her life, as she and her percussive line-up of drums, bass, wood-wind, strings and backing singers, take you on a nostalgic journey – beginning with her days performing on the streets of Southampton to the years of DIY releases and social activism, right up to her recent studio work in the US with producer/bassist Todd Sickafoose (Anais Mitchell / HadesTown / Ani Difranco). A brand new album born of that collaboration will be released later in 2023.
To get your hands on the Limited Edition Cherry Red Vinyl we recommend you pre-order via this link so that you can collect your copy at the show, ahead of the official release, and get it personally signed at the end of the night.

Matthew Sturgess, who performs as ‘The Silver Reserve’, plays delicate, sparse music on a classical guitar, crafting intricate melodies around thoughtful and evocative lyrics. At times creating dense, layered atmospherics, this is music that doesn’t rush and takes its sweet, sad time to unfurl and sneak under the skin.
‘I have fallen in love with The Silver Reserve. Songs of warmth and beauty that scratch at the inside of your heart. In a world that sits heavy on your chest, this is music that reminds you how to breathe.’
Thea Gilmore (Cooking Vinyl)
‘Beautiful, fragmentary songs which slowly dismantle you.’ Seamus Fogarty (Domino Records/Fence Collective)
